The Heal Spot High Protein Instant Ramen Classic Ramen Flavor is pitched as a macro-friendly bowl, with 32 grams of protein, 21 grams of carbs, and 220 calories per pack. The noodles are built on vital wheat gluten and pea protein powder. I wanted to see if a plant-based high-protein ramen could hold its own on a classic chicken-style flavor.

Produced in China.

What’s in the Package

Inside the pouch you get a small round noodle brick and two silver foil packets. One is the seasoning powder and the other is the dried vegetables, which turn out to be green onion and carrot.

How to Cook Heal Spot High Protein Instant Ramen

The package gives a pretty loose set of directions. Put the noodles and both seasoning packets into a bowl, pour boiling water over the noodles until it’s covered a little more, and wait about 5 to 6 minutes before eating.

There is no specific water amount given, so you are left to eyeball it. I would go the full 6 minutes on the cook because these noodles pull water more slowly than a standard wheat block.

How Does It Taste

The first thing that hit me when I opened the pack was a sharp medicinal smell. James said it was probably the pea protein powder, which makes sense once you look at the ingredients. The broth on its own actually smelled fine. It was the noodles carrying the scent.

Once we tasted it, the problems were in the broth. It comes out soapy and a little milky, like a hydrated dry-milk flavor sitting on top of onion and garlic powder. James said it tasted like wet sock.

The seasoning leans on sugar, salt, maltodextrin, and soy protein powder, which is probably where that off-milky note comes from.

The noodles are the least offensive part of the bowl. They have a firmer, chewier bite than a standard instant noodle, closer to a dense fresh noodle than a fried one. Plain, they taste mostly like wheat with a faint pea protein finish. Dropped into the seasoned broth, they pick up the same soapy flavor and the whole thing falls apart.

How Does It Compare

Heal Spot is going after the same macro-conscious eater as Immi and Chef Woo, with very different results. Immi pushes around 20 to 24 grams of protein with thicker, busier broths, though I’ve never loved their flavors either. Chef Woo has a cleaner chicken flavor, and it’s the one I’d call the safest bet of the three.

Heal Spot has the biggest protein number on paper at 32 grams, but the seasoning is where it loses. The strongest protein ramen I’ve tried lately is the Ramen Bae Beef, if you want the macros. If you specifically want a plant-based protein noodle you can repurpose, the Heal Spot is the one you buy for the noodles alone.

How to Level Up Heal Spot High Protein Instant Ramen

If you bought this pack for the macros, my honest recommendation is to use only the noodles and skip the two packets. The noodles hold their shape well and carry about 32 grams of protein on their own. Drop them into a different broth, or finish them as a dry noodle with sauce.

If you do use the seasoning, you have to mask it. A splash of soy sauce and a small drizzle of sesame oil would help. Fresh minced garlic stirred into the hot broth helps cut the milky note. James and I also talked about going heavier on protein toppings, since the whole premise is macros anyway.

Good options: chicken breast, strip steak, or a lean ground meat. Broccoli holds up in the broth. And these thick high-protein noodles would honestly shine in a stir fry or a cold noodle dish, where the noodles do the heavy lifting and the broth stays out of it.

Final Verdict

The macros on the Heal Spot High Protein Instant Ramen are impressive, and the noodles are decent, but the broth doesn’t work. Neither James nor I would buy this again as-is. If you’re focused on macros and you can get past paying for packets you won’t use, the noodles on their own are worth a try with a different broth.
