Snapdragon Tonkotsu Ramen Spicy Pork in cup packaging

I like the “Good vibes only” slogan on this Snapdragon Tonkotsu Ramen cup since it sets an optimistic tone. Although it is spicy pork flavored, there is no spice.

Produced in Vietnam.

It does have a creamy tonkotsu flavor with pleasant scallion and garlic notes. I liked the flavor even though it lacks the fiery kick I was expecting from its name.

As for the noodles, I’ll admit that they’re better compared to other Snapdragon varieties since they completely avoid that lingering “cardboard” aftertaste. For the best texture, preparing them in the microwave seems to be the way to go. The broth itself is relatively thin with a very low viscosity, making it more of a light soup than a rich, heavy tonkotsu.

I would add a soft-boiled egg and some boiled bacon. For a touch of freshness and crunch, a handful of scallions and beansprouts would round out the bowl.

Found this in the Aldi Finds section at my local Aldi, and as a huge fan of Snapdragon’s Pho instant noodle bowls… I was excited to dive in! The flavor is very familiar, heavy on the porky funk with rich umami and a hint of sweetness that can be a bit surprising at first. The noodles are springy and pick up the broth with ease. The package contains a liquid soup base, dried vegetables, and a seasoning oil that packs significantly less spice than in their Pho cup noodle. Overall a tasty cup ramen I’d enjoy again, perhaps with some ground beef and a healthy dosage of roasted garlic! Unless you’re a vampire at least lol

Thin noodles with a light texture. Very rich broth with medium to light amount of veggies and sesame seeds. Only wish it was a little cheaper and a larger serving, it doesn’t fill you up. But very delicious! College student approved!

Think about its overall taste (savory, sweet, sour), richness, and authenticity to the advertised flavor.
Think about their texture, consistency, and how well they held up in the broth.
