Full disclosure, I’m not a fan of most teriyaki flavored instant noodles. The artificial teriyaki character that shows up in this category tends to overwhelm everything else. The Maruchan Yakisoba Teriyaki Beef didn’t change my mind on that.
Produced in the United States. Distributed by Japan.

What’s in the Package
Inside the tray, youโll find a square block of fried wheat noodles and two numbered sachets. The brown-tipped transparent packet labeled “1” is the vegetable sachet, which contains a mix of dehydrated cabbage and carrots. The silver sachet labeled “2” contains the Teriyaki Beef flavor powder.

How to Cook Maruchan Yakisoba Teriyaki Beef
- Remove the lid and both packets. Empty the vegetable packet (1) onto the noodles.
- Fill the tray with room-temperature water up to the inside fill line.
- Heat on high for 4 minutes.
- Carefully remove the tray. Do not drain any remaining water. Add the flavor packet (2).
- Stir thoroughly until the powder is fully dissolved and the noodles are coated in a glossy, dark sauce. Let it sit for 1 minute to allow the sauce to thicken before serving.
How Does It Taste
Sugar and soy sauce are the two main flavors and they don’t let up. The teriyaki profile is there but it reads as artificial in a way that’s hard to get past.
It’s convenient since it’s microwavable and ready fast, but the flavor has a sweetness that sits on top of everything rather than integrating into it.
There’s dried cabbage and carrots already mixed in which adds a small amount of vegetable presence. It’s a dry noodle format like the rest of the Maruchan Yakisoba lineup.
How Does It Compare
Within the Maruchan Yakisoba lineup the Teriyaki Beef has more flavor personality than the Chicken but the sweetness makes it more divisive. If you like sweet saucy noodles you’ll probably enjoy it. If you don’t this is not the bowl to change your mind. The Korean BBQ is the better option if you want something more savory from the same lineup. For an actual teriyaki yakisoba the Nissin Chow Mein Teriyaki Beef is worth comparing directly.

How to Level Up Maruchan Yakisoba Teriyaki Beef Flavor
A few dashes of hot sauce cut through the sweetness and add the depth the bowl is missing. A fried egg on top adds richness and rounds out the soy-forward sauce. Green onions right before serving.
Final Verdict
If you’re into sweet teriyaki noodles you’ll like this. If you’re not, nothing here will convert you. Add hot sauce and a fried egg and it gets more interesting.
