Samyang Vegetasty is a vegan instant ramen and one I actually went back to. It came as a 4-pack and I went through the whole thing quickly. I kept throwing in whatever leftover vegetables and meats I had in the fridge.
Produced in South Korea.

What’s in the Package
Inside the packaging, youโll find a round block of fried wheat noodles and a single red-and-white sachet containing the Vegetasty powder soup base.

How to Cook Samyang Vegetasty Noodle Soup
- Bring 550ml (about 2 1/3 cups) of water to a boil in a medium pot.
- Add the noodle block and the entire contents of the powder sachet to the boiling water.
- 4 minutes and 30 seconds, stirring occasionally to ensure the noodles are cooked evenly.
- Turn off the heat, pour into a large bowl, and serve immediately.

How Does It Taste
The broth hits a comfortable spot between savory and sweet. There’s a good umami depth that you don’t always get from a vegan instant ramen and a pleasant sweetness that’s typical of Samyang’s style. It’s well-balanced and comforting without being heavy.
The spice is a mild 2 out of 5. Less spicy than the Shin Ramyun. I started cooking it with slightly less water than the instructions call for to concentrate the spice a bit more and it made a noticeable difference. Worth trying if you want more heat without adding anything extra.
The noodles are the standard thick wavy Samyang wheat noodle. Good chew, hold up well in the broth.
How Does It Compare
The Kurata Foods Vegan Ramen and Kurata Foods Vegan Tomato Spicy Ramen are the closest comparisons in the vegan category but the Vegetasty has the better broth depth of the three. For a non-vegan Samyang comparison the broth character is closest to the Samyang Potato Ramen Soup.

How to Level Up Samyang Vegetasty Noodle Soup
Chopped cabbage cooked into the broth and an egg yolk stirred in right before serving for creaminess. Beyond that just use whatever’s in the fridge. This broth takes additions well.
Final Verdict
One of the better vegan instant ramens out there and good regardless of dietary preference. The savory-sweet balance is well done and the Samyang noodle quality holds up. Buy the 4-pack. You’ll finish it.
