I’ve reviewed Vifon’s bean thread noodles and their instant porridge and both had their own surprises. When I saw a spicy salted egg dry noodle in their lineup I had to try it. Salted egg is a flavor I love when it’s done right and the spicy version sounded even better.
Produced in Vietnam.

What’s in the Package
Inside you get a round noodle brick, a small oil packet, a red soup base packet, and a larger sauce packet. Three packets total. The noodle brick looks more substantial than you’d expect from a dry noodle at this weight.

How Does It Taste
The salted egg smell when you open the packet is there and it’s promising. The taste is more subdued than the smell suggests. What comes through is closer to a Carbonara-style coating than the rich, buttery salted egg punch I was expecting. It’s creamy and mildly savory but the distinct salted egg character doesn’t fully land.
The surprise in this bowl is the spice. There’s a real heat that builds at the back of the throat and lingers. It’s not aggressive but it’s more than a token amount and it adds something the flavor alone doesn’t quite deliver.
The noodles are the highlight. Thin and wavy with a solid chew that reminded me of Korean style noodles more than Vietnamese. That texture holds up well in the dry format and makes every bite more satisfying than the flavor alone would suggest.

How to Level Up Vifon Instant Dried Noodles with Spicy Salted Egg
The bowl needs something salty and savory to reinforce what the sauce is trying to do. My move would be to add canned tuna in oil. Just dump it straight on top and let it mix into the noodles. Fried SPAM works the same way and adds some texture contrast.
If the lingering heat isn’t enough, a drizzle of chili oil or Sriracha pushes it further. Both pair naturally with the creamy salted egg base.

Final Verdict
The Vifon Instant Dried Noodles with Spicy Salted Egg is worth trying for the noodle texture alone. The salted egg flavor is subtle rather than bold, and the carbonara-style coating is pleasant even if it doesn’t fully deliver on the name. The lingering heat is a nice touch. Add tuna in oil or SPAM and this becomes a solid dry noodle meal.
