What’s in the Package
Inside the packaging, youโll find two bundles of straight, non-fried wheat noodles that have been air-dried to mimic the texture of fresh ramen. Accompanying the noodles are two liquid soup sachets.

How to Cook Itsuki Instant Ramen Noodle Osaka Shoyu Tonkotsu
- Add noodles into 500ml of boiling water and cook for 2.5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add the liquid seasoning packet.
- Mix well and serve.

How Does It Taste
The noodles are the standout. The quality and bite are closer to fresh noodles than anything else in the instant ramen space at this price point. They don’t eat like instant noodles.
Despite being labeled Tonkotsu the flavor is dominated by a salty shoyu base rather than the deep bone broth richness the name suggests. It’s labeled “Animal Free” and while some vegan broths can get surprisingly close to tonkotsu territory, this one doesn’t quite get there. What you do get is a salty shoyu bowl that’s clean and mild but fairly one-note. The salt is the main taste throughout.
How Does It Compare
The noodle quality puts this alongside the Nishiyama Seimen Sumire Shio Ramen and the Sanyo Foods Junren Sapporo Miso Ramen as Japanese imports where the noodle construction is noticeably above the instant ramen standard. The Sumire Shio has a more refined and more convincing broth.

How to Level Up Itsuki Osaka Shoyu Tonkotsu
The broth needs something light to break up the salt. Bean sprouts and green onions add crunch and freshness that cut through the salt. Corn adds a natural sweetness that balances the heavy sodium in a way that works really well for this specific bowl. Add Japanese-style chili oil or Togarashi for heat.

Final Verdict
The Itsuki Osaka Shoyu Tonkotsu is worth trying for the noodles alone. The broth doesn’t live up to the Tonkotsu label but if you go in expecting a clean mild shoyu rather than a rich bone broth it’s a more satisfying experience.

Bought it for the fancy packaging. Did not live upto the expectation.i did make a version with all the ramen fixings still kinda lackluster.
The broth does not taste anything like tonkotsu or shoyu to me. The broth is not thick enough to remind me of tonkotsu, and it isn’t savory enough to taste like shoyu. It tastes generically salty, kind of like a pork maruchan. However, the noodle texture is quite nice for an instant product. Would not buy again.
