TTL Wine Stewed Flavor Noodles is a Taiwanese instant noodle built around one unusual ingredient. It’s a separate packet of Taiwanese rice wine that you pour in right at the end.

Produced in Taiwan.

What’s in the Package

Inside the packaging, you will find a rectangular block of thin, wavy wheat noodles and three sachets. The silver and green powder sachet contas the soup base and dehydrated medicinal aromatics, such as goji berries. The second sachet is filled with a ginger-infused oil. The final one is a white and blue sachet, which contains a generous portion of Hua Tiao medicinal rice wine.

How Does It Taste

The broth has an herbal smell with notes of Cordyceps and Goji berries coming through before you even add the water. Once cooked the pork flavor is the base and the rice wine brings it to life when you pour it in at the end. There’s a sweetness from the Goji berries balanced by a slightly sour finish and a silky richness from the fat packet that makes the whole thing feel substantial.

This broth tastes medicinal in the best possible way. It’s the bowl you want when you’re sick, or when it’s cold, or when you want something that feels like it’s doing something good for you. No spice at all.

The noodles are thin and take about 3 minutes to cook. Simple but they absorb the wine-infused broth well.

How Does It Compare

Nothing else in the catalogue is quite like this. The Ve Wong Sesame Chicken sits in a similar medicinal herbal Taiwanese broth territory. The Vifon Instant Porridge Beef Flavour is the other sick-day bowl on the site but in a Vietnamese porridge format. The TTL is unique because of the rice wine element.

How to Level Up TTL Wine Stewed Flavor Noodles

Rotisserie chicken breast pairs naturally with the pork and herbal base without making it too heavy. Broccoli adds crunch and nutrients and fits the restorative spirit of the bowl.

Final Verdict

It’s a special instant noodle. The Taiwanese rice wine packet transforms the broth in a way that’s hard to describe until you taste it. A sick day bowl, a cold weather bowl, a bowl that tastes like someone thought carefully about what goes in it. Save the wine packet for last.
