Watcharees Thai Peanut Noodles in bowl packaging

Watcharee’s Thai Peanut Noodles stood out to me at the store because it’s vegan and a women-owned brand. The second I opened the package I was surprised by how thick and wavy the noodles were. There were actual vegetables included too which you don’t see very often. I was curious to see if the flavor could match that first impression.

Produced in Thailand. Distributed by the United States.

What’s in the package

There are two packets: a vacuum-sealed bag of thick fresh wavy noodles and a sauce packet. The noodles are noticeably chunkier and more substantial than your typical dried instant noodle brick.

How does it taste

The first thing you notice is how thick and wavy the noodles are, which is a genuinely pleasant surprise. They hold the sauce well and have a satisfying chew. The flavor hits you immediately with a very prominent sweetness that tastes distinctly like springroll dipping sauce. It’s not subtle at all.

James noted that it’s missing a certain Thai-ness to it. The dominant note leans more toward straight peanut butter than an authentic Thai peanut profile. There’s warmth in the background but the sweetness tends to overshadow everything else. The included edamame and carrots add a nice freshness and texture contrast that helps balance the richness of the sauce.

How does it compare

Compared to other Thai inspired instant noodles this one leans much sweeter and less savory than most. Something like Mama Pork or a standard pad thai instant noodle will give you more of that tangy savory complexity. Where Watcharee’s stands apart is the quality of the noodles themselves and the inclusion of real vegetables in the package. For a vegan option specifically this is one of the more interesting ones on the market.

Final Verdict

Honestly I probably wouldn’t buy Watcharee’s Thai Peanut Noodles again for a regular noodle night. But if I needed a peanut sauce to dip spring rolls in? I might pick it up again.
