I found the Po Po Cha Cha Spicy Clam Ramen Soup at the HMart in New York City. If you’ve ever been to the one in K-Town, you know that corner of the store dedicated to instant ramen. It’s a serious section and this felt like a real find the moment I spotted it. Produced and distributed in South Korea.

What’s in the Package

Inside the Po Po Cha Cha Spicy Clam Ramen Soup package, youโ€™ll find a block of wavy wheat noodles and a single dry seasoning sachet. This sachet contains the spicy clam base.

How to Prepare It

  1. Bring 500ml (about 2 cups) of water to a boil in a pot.
  2. Add the noodle block and cook for 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the dry seasoning sachet. If you prefer a more concentrated broth, you can let it simmer for an extra 30 seconds after adding the powder.
  4. Transfer to a bowl.

How Does It Taste

The clam flavor fully delivers. It coats your whole mouth and doesn’t let go. It’s a full clam-forward broth that tastes like someone actually put clams in it. For an instant ramen that’s a significant achievement.

The spice is the other standout. It’s the kind of heat that clears your head. What makes it work is how well it sits alongside the clam. The heat doesn’t fight the seafood flavor. It amplifies it. The two are in balance in a way that most spicy seafood ramens don’t manage.

The broth sits at a 2 out of 5 on viscosity, light but present, with enough body to carry the flavor. The noodles are thin and wavy at a 2 out of 5 on thickness. Standard format but they do their job.

James and I both agreed we didn’t want to touch this bowl with toppings.

How to Level Up HAD Po Po Cha Cha Spicy Clam Ramen Soup

Honestly, I’d leave this one alone. The clam and spice balance is calibrated well enough that adding toppings risks upsetting what’s already working. This is one of the few instant ramens on the site where my recommendation is to cook it exactly as directed and eat it as is.

If you absolutely want to add something, a handful of fresh clams steamed and added to the finished bowl would be the only addition I’d consider. It reinforces rather than redirects.

Final Verdict

The Po Po Cha Cha Spicy Clam Ramen is one of the best seafood instant ramens I’ve reviewed. The clam flavor is intense and real, the spice is well balanced, and the two work together in a way that’s memorable. Finding it at the HMart K-Town felt like a score and the bowl justified it completely. Pick it up if you see it.
